GARDENS

2012 summer 152Garden construction:
Starting a new garden can be a daunting task, we can guide you through the process or do all the work for you.  We can take a lawn or bare patch and turn it into a beautiful organic garden.  We will work with you to design a garden that fits your needs and budget.

Garden maintenance:
Some people don’t have the time or desire to keep up with the demands of their vegetable garden.  Not to worry, we can do it for you!  We offer a full range of maintenance services, from several times a season to several times a week.  It all depends on how much time you have to devote to the garden. Some examples of maintenance include: rototilling, weeding, watering, fertilization, pest control, mulching,  succession planting, harvesting, cover cropping, and more!

Garden consultation:
Are you having trouble with your current garden?  If so, then we can help!  We can spend as much time as needed in your garden to improve what you are doing as well as help you gain the skills to be a more successful gardener.  Our goal is for all gardeners to feel comfortable with their abilities, whether you are a first time gardener or a seasoned green thumb.

Native/ Perennial Landscaping:

We can help you create a backyard landscape that provides beauty, bounty, habitat and low maintenance.  We can help with the design, installation and maintenance of your entire landscape.

Garden Sitting:

It’s hard to leave your beautiful garden, but the growing season is a busy time of year.  You can count on us to tend to your garden while you’re away, with the confidence that you will return to a better garden than you left us.

Irrigation:
Successful gardens require consistent watering.  Given the uncertainty of rain and the fact that our sandy soils drain water quickly, drip irrigation is a great option for any garden.  Drip irrigation allows for easy and efficient watering of plants by delivering water directly to the root zone.  This helps prevent fungal problems and water loss through evaporation and runoff.

Soil amending:
Have you planted a garden and wondered why the plants failed to thrive?  You may need to amend your soil.  We can test your soil and recommend a full range of organic amendments to boost the productivity and health of your soil.

Compost:
Compost is one of the most important inputs to any organic garden.  We can help build custom compost bins, or improve your current pile.  Many people get the concept of composting, but need a little help to get their pile going and learning what it takes to maintain a healthy compost pile.

Backyard vineyard/ berries/ orchard/ hops:
Our region’s climate is great for growing many fruits and you don’t have to have a lot of land to do it.  We can help you start a small orchard or vineyard on your property.  Nothing is better than picking fresh berries, and they’re easy to grow and also make beautiful additions to your landscape.  Or if you like to brew beer, why not grow your own hops?
